Easter: Home and Away

I am not really happy with my blog lay-out so I am trying a different format. I would consider myself kinda a computer geek so I will try to figure out something more personalized later. I am not saying I am a computer wiz, so we'll see.

This past week, easter came and went, so did Prague, and of course, laying new floors in the bedroom. Barrett was doing the whole job, I was managing. (Hello now, I didn't take Managment 101 in college for nada now did I). Of course when one aren't allowed to contribute in the big project it usually means it's my job cleaning up, and of course--- making the room come together. Barrett couldn't care less, he is done laying floors, now lets just get the bed in place. I somtimes imagine having Nate Berkus as a BF- now there is a guy who isn't afraid style a room! Unfortunately things could never work out between us as we live on two different countinents, and the small little detail that he isn't really all that into women. I will posts some pics of the new flooring later, until then- I present Mr. Berkus :)

No good blogger...

...thats me-- its's hard to keep this thing up, especially when I have been in a "I-am-just-waiting-for-spring-mode" since January. It has serisouly been a rough winter, I can't wait for the summer to come. A few things to look forward to is our trip to Prague in about 3 weeks, and then our 3 week-long trip to the US in the end of May. It's soon April but it's still cold here, so here are some things I look forward to as the temperatures are rising:

  • wearing my cute white jeans again
  • drinking bear/wine/cocktails outside
  • wearing my leather jacket
  • wearing pumps again (not boots)
  • all the cute tops from last year.. and possibly the new ones I will buy :)
  • getting a tan.. I need to get rid of my pasty skin
  • longer days in the sun.. or just days in the sun..
  • vacation time (only a couple of months away)
  • pealing and eating fresh shrimps
  • going to the beach

Am I a summer person or what? Well it's not so much that I need it to be summer all year round, but just not what I have now, which is crap weather for about 7 months, then summer 2 months, the other 3 are wild-cards :) Sometimes I wish I lived here (Hawaii):

or maybe here (san fran is pretty much warm all year round right??):

There are so many amazing places.... ah.. I can dream.. until then: Norway it is :)

Obama for yo mama

So it’s final, as of yesterday, that Barack Obama is the 44th president of the USA. As a Norwegian one would think that this is not important to me, but on the contrary it is. I am happy there is (finally) a president elected that is actually liked outside the US. For years now, the US has NOT been a popular country, world wide. Of course a lot of peoples onions about the US is what they read in the media, and it’s been a while since I red anything positive. Do I think Obama can turn around this economy and get the country back on track? Well, I agree with his speech that its a joint effort. The American people need to change with the times. It will be exciting to see what will happen in the future. The American marked is certainly not insignificant when it comes to the rest of the world. As the USA has been struggling with a weak economy for some time now, Norway is starting to "feel" it as well. Of course, since Norway is a much smaller country than America it will likely not be AS severe here, only times will tell.

I am at least excited with the new president, now I don’t have to go around and be scared to tell people I went to school in the US for four years and that I am a person who actually likes the US. Maybe people’s opinions will change with the new times and with this new promising president!

On another less serious note I must say the new presidential couple is looking good, both style-wise and health wise. Go the Obamas for that as well!

Finally January!!

So x-mass is over this time, which is nice, considering its time to try to live a little healthier again.  This year we celebrated at home with my mom, my brother, and my dad (although they are divorced). Me and BJ got skies for x-mass. On 2nd x-mass day we wet to Trysil to go downhill skiing and cross country skiing.

Here are some pics..
